Burger Brats Brings Premium Burgers to Thetford – and Professional Photography Into the Mix
Thetford has a new addition to its food scene, and it’s already making waves. Burger Brats has recently opened its doors in the old Grand Central building, breathing new life into the space with a bold menu of stacked burgers, loaded fries, and comfort food favourites. It’s always exciting to see fresh restaurants arriving in town, but this story isn’t just about the food – it’s about how professional photography helped give this new business an immediate boost.
Like many restaurants, Burger Brats had been promoting itself on Facebook since opening. Their feed was filled with quick smartphone snaps of burgers, fries, and drinks. Perfectly fine for a casual update, but the images weren’t really doing justice to the quality of the food they were serving. When you’ve invested time and energy into a premium product, the photography needs to match that level.
That’s where I thought I could help.
Spotting the Opportunity
I’ve worked with a number of restaurants, cafés, and hospitality businesses across East Anglia, creating photography that not only showcases the menu but also helps customers get a real sense of the atmosphere and brand. Good food photography is about much more than just showing a plate – it’s about creating appetite appeal, setting the tone, and sparking the kind of reaction that makes people stop scrolling and start booking.
When I first saw Burger Brats’ Facebook posts, I recognised an opportunity. The burgers looked brilliant in person – towering, colourful, and loaded with flavour – but on social media, the photos didn’t reflect that. With so much competition for attention, first impressions matter, and I was convinced professional photography could make all the difference.
After a conversation with the management team, and a little persuasion on my part, they agreed to give it a try.
Bringing the Food to Life
We arranged a shoot at the Thetford restaurant, and I spent several hours capturing a range of dishes. The aim was to highlight not only the hero items like their premium burgers but also the smaller details – the textures, the freshness, the sides, and the presentation.
Lighting was key. Food can be notoriously tricky to photograph, and without the right setup, even the tastiest dish can look flat. By using a mix of natural light and controlled studio lighting, I was able to make the colours pop – golden fries, bright greens, juicy reds, and glossy sauces. The goal was to create images that looked mouth-watering, authentic, and full of energy.
After the shoot, I spent around half a day on careful editing and colour work. About 20 polished images were then delivered via my secure online gallery, ready for the Burger Brats team to use immediately.
Immediate Results
The impact was obvious right away. Within 30 minutes of the photos being uploaded, Burger Brats had updated their Facebook page with fresh new imagery. The difference was night and day – professional shots that instantly stood out in the feed.
Customers responded straight away with likes, comments, and shares. The photos gave people a real reason to stop and take notice, and for a new restaurant in town, that’s invaluable. A strong social media presence can mean the difference between a quiet night and a fully booked service.
It was incredibly satisfying to see the photos make such an immediate impact, especially for a business still establishing itself in the local market.
From Local to Regional
What started as a one-off shoot for the Thetford branch quickly grew into something much bigger. After reviewing the gallery, the owner of the Burger Brats chain was so impressed with the results that he asked if the images could be used across all of their restaurants.
That means the photography shot right here in Thetford will now appear in all 11 Burger Brats outlets across East Anglia. From King’s Lynn to Ipswich, the same professional images will be helping to promote the chain, giving them a consistent, high-quality visual identity across their estate.
It’s a proud moment to know that local work has reached such a wide audience. For me, it also highlights the power of professional photography – one session in Thetford is now helping to shape the brand image of an entire regional chain.
Why Photography Matters for Restaurants
Food is an experience we enjoy with all our senses, but online, sight is the only one that counts. If a dish doesn’t look appealing, people won’t feel tempted to try it. Professional photography captures the textures, colours, and atmosphere in a way that smartphone snaps simply can’t.
For restaurants, it isn’t just about showing food – it’s about building trust. Customers want to know what to expect, and strong visuals reassure them that they’ll get quality, care, and attention when they visit. It also helps with consistency across marketing, from menus and websites to delivery platforms and social media.
For Burger Brats, the photos were a way of elevating their brand to match the premium product they’re offering. The results speak for themselves.
Looking Ahead
I’m delighted to have played a part in helping Burger Brats make their mark in Thetford and beyond. What began as a local shoot has turned into a project that supports a chain of restaurants right across East Anglia. It shows just how far professional photography can reach when it’s done well.
I’m looking forward to working with Burger Brats again, and to collaborating with other restaurants and hospitality businesses who want to stand out in a crowded market.
