We’re Bringing Back Our Wedding Trees

A Gift That Grows With You

There are some traditions in business that feel good… and then there are the ones that feel right. When we started Thetford Photography, we had this simple idea: every wedding couple who trusted us with their day deserved a thank you that went beyond words. Something meaningful. Something that would last.

So we planted a tree for every couple. No fuss, no fanfare — just a quiet promise to do a bit of good every time love was celebrated.

And then… well, the business grew. Commercial photography in Norfolk and Suffolk took off. We were shooting events in London, headshots in Cambridge, product photography in Essex… and honestly? The admin side of keeping the tree project running got messy. (Sorry, not sorry.)

But the heart of that promise never went away. And now? It’s officially back.

As of 11 December 2025, every new wedding booking with Thetford Photography includes a tree planted in your honour — a little green legacy that grows alongside your marriage.

Let’s talk about why that matters.

Why Trees? Because Your Wedding Deserves a Legacy

A Symbol of Growth That Outlasts the Big Day

Your wedding photos aren’t just for the day — they’re for your future selves, your children, your grandchildren. A tree is the same. It’s something that grows stronger over time, rooted in the moment you said “We’re doing this. Together.”

It doesn’t get more symbolic than that.

Our Original Vision: Photography With Heart, Integrity & Purpose

When we first launched Thetford Photography in Norfolk, we wanted to build a business that actually contributed to the world we live in — not just profit from it.

Planting trees for every couple was an easy decision. It aligned perfectly with our values:

  • Trust & Professionalism — We deliver what we promise.

  • Human Connection — We genuinely care about the people we work with.

  • Expert Knowledge — Built on years of marketing, photography, and visual storytelling.

  • Selective Partnership — We choose to work with people who value community, creativity, and respect.

Trees weren’t a marketing gimmick. They were a natural extension of who we are.

So… What Happened? Life, Growth, and Lots of Commercial Clients

Let’s be honest: commercial work in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, and London ramped up fast.

Between Commercial Photography, Product Photography, Headshots, Event Photography, Awards Ceremony Photography, and Video Production, we simply had more moving parts than we could manage gracefully. Suddenly, keeping track of each tree donation became more complex than selecting the perfect wedding group shot during golden hour at Holkham Beach.

But here’s the good part…

Our couples kept asking about the trees. They loved it. They missed it. And so did we.

What We’ve Already Achieved Together

Thanks to our previous couples, we’ve supported environmental projects across the world. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we’ve funded:

  • Reforestation projects

  • Peatland restoration

  • Carbon reduction programmes

  • Mangrove planting

  • Wildlife habitat protection

You can still see everything we’ve done before here: – https://ecologi.com/thetfordphotography

We’re incredibly proud — but also fully motivated to do more.

How the New Tree Tradition Will Work

Every Wedding Booking from 11 December 2025 Comes With a Tree

No upgrades. No hidden charges. No “premium packages.”

Just trees. Planted because you chose us. Because you trusted us. Because your wedding deserves to leave something beautiful behind.

You’ll Get a Link to the Project You’re Supporting

Once the donation is made, we’ll send you a link showing exactly where your trees live.

Yes — you can visit it every anniversary. (But they may be in Africa, Asia or South America)
No — it probably won’t have your names carved into it (that would defeat the purpose).
But you will know that it’s out there doing good in the world.

A Simple, Feel-Good Promise

It’s our way of giving back, closing the loop, and honouring the couples who make our work possible.

What This Means for Your Wedding Photography Experience

Tree or no tree, our approach to wedding photography has always been rooted in:

  • Warm, easygoing communication

  • Planning that feels supportive, not stressful

  • Honest guidance (even if we tell you “chin down, love” 15 times)

  • Photography that’s relaxed, natural, and full of genuine connection

That’s who we are — whether we’re photographing a wedding at South Farm, Holkham Hall, Oxnead Hall, Hengrave Hall, Granary Estates, or any other Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex venue that makes your heart go “Yes, this one.”

The tree is just an added symbol of the care behind everything we do.

Where This Matters Most: Weddings in the East and South East of England

Working across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and London, we’ve seen how many couples want their weddings — and their suppliers — to reflect their values.

So whether you’re dreaming of:

  • a Norfolk barn wedding,

  • a Suffolk countryside celebration,

  • a London urban chic ceremony,

  • an Essex rustic-luxe party,

  • a Cambridgeshire manor house gathering,

…you’re choosing suppliers who care about people and planet.

And frankly? Those are our favourite couples.

Why This Matters (More Than Ever)

Shared Values Build Better Partnerships

We’re not just another wedding vendor. We’re the people who will:

  • spend your wedding morning calming nerves,

  • bustle your dress when your maid of honour wanders off,

  • fix your buttonholes,

  • adjust your veil,

  • make sure everyone looks amazing,

  • and capture the moments you didn’t even know were happening.

That kind of relationship can’t happen without trust and shared values.

Planting a tree together is a tiny but meaningful symbol of that partnership.

It’s Also Just… Nice

Let’s call it what it is: weddings are expensive. Planning is stressful. Decision fatigue is real.

And yet this one thing? You don’t have to think about it. You don’t have to choose it. It simply happens because you booked us — your photographer, your storyteller, your timeline-keeper, your unofficial calm-in-the-chaos person.

You get gorgeous wedding photos.
The planet gets a tree.
Everybody wins.

Final Thoughts — A Promise Rooted in Something Real

Bringing back the tree tradition isn’t a marketing stunt. It’s a return to the kind of business we set out to build — one rooted in trust, integrity, and genuine connection.

Let’s plant a tree for your future.
And let’s create images that feel like you — honest, joyful, and beautifully real
