Our Photography Journey
Why We’re Rebranding 3 Weeks Before Christmas 2025
(And Why It Makes Perfect Sense) Commercial Photography in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire & London
Yes… We’re Rebranding Three Weeks Before Christmas.
Let’s address the reindeer in the room: yes, we really are rebranding just three weeks before Christmas. While most people are wrapping gifts, finishing their last deadlines, and hunting for mince pies, we’re over here refreshing logos, rebuilding the website, and rethinking the next decade of Thetford Photography.
Why?
Because waiting another month (or another year) would mean delaying the level of service our clients deserve. And if you know us, you’ll know we’re not into faffing (when we’ve made. the decision to go). We like clarity. We like planning. And we really like delivering the best commercial photography we possibly can — whether that’s event and awards ceremony photography, headshots, product photography, or the kind of commercial photography that genuinely strengthens a brand.
So yes. We’re doing this now. And actually, it feels exactly right.
Where It All Started: A Side-Hustle Logo and a Very Different Life
The 2016 Logo That Was Never Supposed to Be “The Logo”
Back in 2016, Thetford Photography wasn’t meant to become what it is today. The original logo was created quickly — the sort of “that’ll do for now” job that you design between meetings when the dream hasn’t quite become a business yet.
It was fine. Functional. The logo equivalent of dry toast.
But it wasn’t built for a full-scale creative studio working across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and London. It wasn’t built for commercial clients, national campaigns, or the level of quality we deliver today. It definitely wasn’t built for where we’re heading next.
And after nine years, we finally admitted what you probably already suspected:
It was time.
Growing Up: From One Camera and a Wobbly Tripod to a Full Commercial Studio
The evolution has been steady, intentional, and a little emotional if we’re honest.
What began with a single camera and a tripod that definitely had commitment issues has grown into a full commercial photography studio with:
-
Multiple professional lighting setups
-
Studio stands and backdrops
-
Multiple Macs running Lightroom and Photoshop etc etc
-
A growing team of freelance specialists
-
Video production support
-
A buzzing client base across the East and South East of England
From Norwich to Ipswich, Cambridge to Chelmsford, Colchester to London — we’ve travelled everywhere from industrial units to corporate offices to luxury event venues.
To anyone looking in from the outside, this might appear like “normal business growth”. But to us?
It’s the result of years of graft, creativity, resilience, planning, and working with genuinely brilliant people.
So… Why Rebrand Now?
Because the Brand Finally Needed to Match the Work
This rebrand isn’t a marketing stunt. It’s not a “new year, new me” makeover. It’s the natural result of sitting down, looking at where we’ve come from, and being honest about who we’ve become.
Because Our Clients Deserve a Brand That Reflects the Level of Service We Deliver
Our clients — whether they’re commissioning commercial photography, booking headshots, planning event photography, or mapping out video projects — expect clarity, quality, and professionalism.
The old brand didn’t communicate that.
This one does.
Because We’re No Longer Just a Local Team
Don’t get us wrong — we love being rooted in Norfolk and the wider East of England. From Thetford forest photoshoots to Cambridge events to Suffolk coastal brand sessions, this is home.
But increasingly, we’re being invited to work in:
-
London
-
Kent
-
Hertfordshire
-
Bedfordshire
-
And even early discussions with overseas projects and shoots
So we needed a visual identity that could travel.
Because It Lets Us Return to Creativity (The Whole Reason This Started)
After years working in corporate marketing — endless spreadsheets, endless meetings, endless finance “guards” on creativity — it became clear:
I wanted to return to visual storytelling.
– To people.
– To human connection.
– To purposeful creativity.
This rebrand is that return.
What the New Brand Actually Means for You
1. Trust & Professionalism — Because Reliability Is Everything
We’ve always taken planning seriously, but the new brand puts it front and centre.
Whether we’re photographing:
-
A commercial office in Bury St Edmunds
-
An awards ceremony in Norwich
-
A product range in Colchester
-
A corporate event in London
…you can count on:
-
Clear communication
-
Detailed planning
-
Fast, consistent delivery
-
A process that reduces friction for your team
2. Human Connection — Photography That Feels Personal
Yes, we’re technical.
Yes, we know our gear, our lighting, our commercial storytelling.
But what makes clients come back isn’t just the quality — it’s how we work.
We’re warm, approachable, down-to-earth, and often a bit cheeky.
Because photography should feel comfortable.
– Human.
– Collaborative.
3. Expert Knowledge — Creative + Marketing = A Better Final Result
Many photographers can take a technically good photo.
But not every photographer understands:
-
Brand identity
-
Marketing strategy
-
How images support sales
-
How visual consistency impacts trust
-
How to create a bank of marketing-ready content
We do.
Years in the industry taught us exactly what businesses need from their imagery — and we build that into every project.
4. Selective Partnership — Working With the Right People
This rebrand also reflects a big shift:
We no longer say yes to everyone.
We focus on clients who value:
-
Respect
-
Creativity
-
Collaboration
-
Integrity
-
Long-term partnership
Because when we work with good people, we produce great work.
The New Logo: A Step Forward Rather Than a Shout
The new logo is cleaner, simpler, more confident — and deliberately less tied to geography.
Still proud of where we’re from.
Just not limited by it.
We’re a Norfolk-born brand with national reach — serving clients across the East and South East including Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and London.
